Are you in Guatemala? Practice with Michelle!
~
To make a long story short… I started my practice in 1993 when I was in seventh grade. Right away, I could feel a shift within myself. It was love at first stretch!
I practiced yoga solely from books until I took my first class at a gym in 2001. I immediately knew that I wanted to become a yoga teacher. I earned my 200-hour hatha yoga teacher certification in 2002.
I’ve been teaching yoga and mindfulness for the past ten years to diverse groups of children, teens and adults. While living in the San Francisco Bay area in 2003 and ‘04, I began to study Buddhism and started a formal sitting meditation practice. I’ve completed two ten-day silent Vipassana meditation courses, the latter on a trip to north India in 2008.
I relocated to Guatemala in 2009, where I have continued to deepen my personal practices of yoga and mindfulness. I currently teach 3 yoga classes per week, volunteer teach monthly at a safe house for teenage victims of human trafficking, and offer weekend yoga workshops and retreats.
